IEEE INTERNATIONAL JOINT CONFERENCE ON BIOMETRICS (IJCB 2023)
25-28 September 2023, Ljubljana, Slovenia
https://ijcb2023.ieee-biometrics.org

The IEEE International Joint Conference on Biometrics (IJCB) is the
premier international forum for research in biometrics and related
technologies. It combines two major biometrics conferences, the IEEE
Biometrics Theory, Applications, and Systems (BTAS) conference and the
IAPR International Conference on Biometrics (ICB), and is made possible
through a special agreement between the IEEE Biometrics Council and the
IAPR TC-4. IJCB 2023 is the 7th iteration of this major joint event and
will be held in Ljubljana (Slovenia), between 25-28 September 2023 as an
in-person conference.

Several calls are currently open that allow interested researchers to
participate in the conference and present their work and latest research
results. A short summary of the call is provided below.

Multiple travel-grant opportunities are also available.

Call for Doctoral Consortium Participants

The IJCB Doctoral Consortium provides a valuable platform for Ph.D.
students to engage with the global research community in Biometrics,
allowing them to present their research and discuss their career
objectives. This consortium offers an opportunity for doctoral students
to establish connections and collaborations with experienced researchers
in the field, while gaining insights into potential career paths in both
academia and industry. We invite eligible students to apply for the
Doctoral Consortium, with the expectation that successful applicants
will actively participate in the entire program in-person.

Application Deadline: August 10, 2023

Call for Journal Paper Presentations

IJCB 2023 is pleased to announce a journal paper presentation
opportunity for recent and in-press journal papers within the IJCB
scope. Journals being considered include top-tier IEEE journals and
journals affiliated with IJCB’s sponsoring societies. Papers, recently
published in the IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Identity and Behavior
(T-BIOM), are especially welcome.

Journal Presentation Request Deadline: August 14, 2023

Call for Special Session Papers

The IJCB 2023 technical program will highlight a limited number of
Special Sessions in order to complement the regular program with new or
emerging topics of particular interest to the Biometrics community.
Submissions to four special sessions are currently open:

• Synthetic data in Biometrics
• 3D Biometrics with Monocular Vision
• Long-Range Biometrics Challenges
• Recent Advances in Detecting Manipulation Attacks on Biometric Systems

Submission Deadline: July 31, 2023

Call for Tutorial Proposals

The IJCB 2023 Organizing Committee invites proposals for tutorials to be
given on September 25, 2023, immediately preceding the main conference.
Tutorials can be for either half- or full day. A half-day tutorial could
be 2-3 hours long and a full-day tutorial could be 5-6 hours long.

Submission deadline: August 1, 2023

Call for Demos and Exhibitions

IJCB 2023 will host demos and exhibitions session to provide to
participant researchers the opportunity to showcase live demonstrations
of their contributions in the area of biometrics. The demonstrations are
intended to display, in an interactive setting, new methods and
technologies, system prototypes, and experimental features of mature
systems. Demonstrations from the academia, industry and government are
welcome.

Application deadline: August 10, 2023

IJCB 2023 Travel Grants

IJCB 2023 offers travel grants to support attendance of selected
researchers through two distinct travel grant programs:

+ The DEI travel grant program, sponsored by the IEEE Biometrics Council
(Application deadline: 18 August 2023)
+ The Doctoral Consortium travel grant program, sponsored by the NSF
(Application deadline: 15 August 2023)

Call for Nominations for the IAPR YBIA Award

The IAPR Technical Committee 4 on Biometrics (TC4) is seeking
nominations for the prestigious “IAPR Young Biometrics Investigator
Award” (YBIA). The award, established during the IAPR TC4 flagship
event, the International Conference on Biometrics (ICB) in New Delhi,
India in 2012, recognizes outstanding scientists in the biometrics field
below the age of 40 and is given out every two years. The award consists
of a cash amount and a suitably inscribed certificate.

Nomination deadline: 20th August 2023
