The Verghese Lab at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San Francisco is seeking a motivated and organized individual to program visual displays, conduct experimental research, analyze data, and run comparisons to model predictions. We study human vision and eye-hand coordination in healthy participants as well as those with clinical conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye) and macular degeneration (AMD). Good problem-solving skills, documentation skills, meticulous attention to details and the ability to work with participants are highly desirable.
Areas of Responsibility
* Program experiments (using MATLAB or Python) and interface with eye trackers and motion trackers
* Analyze behavioral, eye movement and hand movement data
* Program virtual reality experiments in Unity
* Test participants
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Psychology or Neuroscience
* Proficiency in MATLAB or Python programming
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience with data analysis and visualization (R, Python, or similar)
* Experience interfacing data acquisition systems
