Postdoctoral Fellowships at Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute, San Francisco
The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute announces two postdoctoral fellowship openings<https://www.ski.org/fellowship-openings> We are a non-profit institute completely devoted to research and offer a unique environment for postdoctoral fellows interested in a research career with the option to apply for the Principal Investigator (PI) track.
Smith-Kettlewell is a uniquely attractive place to receive postdoctoral training in vision research, low vision and blindness. Our fellowship program offers the flexibility to propose and pursue independent research in close collaboration and mentorship with one or more of our experienced principal investigators. During the training period, fellows who are interested in a research career and have achieved necessary milestones can apply for the PI track at Smith-Kettlewell.
The fellowships require a Ph.D., O.D., or M.D. and are normally awarded for two years, with our most successful fellows often becoming sponsored investigators. Applications from individuals with disabilities or other underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged. One fellowship is a Smith-Kettlewell fellowship that is open to US Citizens and foreign nationals, and the other is an NEI Training Grant fellowship that requires fellows to be US citizens or permanent residents.
Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2024. If you have further questions, please email Dr. Preeti Verghese or Beatriz St. John at fellowships at ski.org<mailto:fellowships at ski.org>.
