Doctoral Researcher (m/f/d) E 13 TV-L- Visual Information Sampling

Tasks

The project on "Visual information sampling using eye-movements and
overt attention in dynamic scenes" builds on our previous work on
"Object-level scene descriptions and attention in visual search".
Combining eye-tracking experiments, computational modeling, and
validation of the results in computer vision applications, we will
investigate the relationship between the task, gaze behavior, and scene
memorization.

The successful candidate will be involved in the computational modelling
of scene representations based on scene graphs, of their formation
during scene viewing, and of the interactions between scene
representations and eye-movement patterns.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a successfully completed university degree (Master,
Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or
related fields. Applicants should have very good programming skills,
good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire
the respective missing language skills, a solid mathematical background,
strong competence on computer vision, and a strong interest in visual
perception. An additional background in psychology is an advantage.
