[visionlist] Graduate student position in pediatric vision

Dr. Krista Kelly is seeking applicants for a full-time graduate student position in the Vision and Neurodevelopment (VAN) Lab at the University of Waterloo (UW) in Waterloo, Ontario. The full-time student will join the Vision Science Graduate Studies at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at UW. The successful student will join a dynamic group researching the functional consequences of pediatric eye conditions such as amblyopia (‘lazy eye’) on children. The lab uses psychophysics, eye tracking (EyeLink 1000 Plus, Tobii Glasses 2), and body tracking (GAITRite mobile walkway, Qualisys motion capture system) techniques to investigate eye movements, reading, and motor functioning in children and adults with amblyopia and strabismus. Students must have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, biology, cognitive science, computer science, neuroscience, or a related field and an interest in vision science and development. Preferred (but not required) qualifications include previous experience in a research lab and proficiency in computer programming (e.g., Matlab, PsychoPy, Python, R).
