*Position: *Postdoctoral Associate

*Department*

Psychology Department

*Location*

New York, NY

*Description*: A Postdoctoral Associate position is now available in the
Department of Psychology and Center for Neural Science at New York
University. The position is for an NIH-funded research project concerned
with multisensory cue integration, including vision, audition, touch and
proprioception for interpreting spatial location, temporal judgments and
interpreting self- and object-motion from optic flow. Theoretical issues
include the role of uncertainty in cue integration, use of priors, causal
inference, cue recalibration and confidence judgments. Techniques include
computational neuroscience modeling and psychophysics. The work is
primarily in the lab of Michael Landy, and will include close collaboration
with David Heeger. Experience in either of these areas (psychophysics,
computational modeling) is required, but skill in both would be even more
helpful.

The NYU perception group is world-renowned, with dozens of faculty members
spanning several departments. It includes research in all areas of vision
science including psychophysics, computational and mathematical modeling
and physiology.

The appointment is initially for one year, renewable year by year for as
many as four years contingent on availability of funding and satisfactory
performance.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range
for this position is $62,500-$90,000. New York University considers factors
such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of
the research grant when extending an offer.

*Qualifications: *Experience in psychophysics and computational modeling

*Application Instructions: *To apply please visit
