[visionlist] Postdoc position in ERC project on perceptual inferences, Marburg, Germany

Applications are invited for a postdoc position in the lab of Alexander 
Schütz at Marburg University.

The position is funded by the ERC Consolidator Grant "Sensation and 
Inferences in Perception, Metacognition and Action (SENCES)”. In SENCES, 
we investigate how the brain treats own, inferred signals compared to 
sensory signals in different types of sensory gaps, such as the 
blind-spot, amodal completion and pathological scotomata. The project 
combines multiple methods such as psychophysics, computational 
modelling, EEG and clinical work with patients. More information on the

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for conducting 
studies on the control of eye movements by inferred information or 
studies on the contribution of different photoreceptor types to 
perceptual inferences.

The successful applicant will hold a MSc-degree or equivalent in 
Psychology, Neuroscience or a related field and a PhD on a related 
topic. Experience with the perceptual measurements during saccades or 
the isolation of photoreceptors with multi-primary devices is expected.
