Call for Papers: Special Issue on Amblyopia Research

Special Issue Title: Advances in Amblyopia Research

Amblyopia, the most common cause of vision loss in childhood, is a significant public health concern that affects millions worldwide.  Vision Research is planning a Special Issue to showcase cutting-edge research and advancements in understanding, diagnosing and treating amblyopia.  The collection of work will highlight recent advances in the field and identify critical knowledge gaps important to researchers, clinicians, teachers, policy makers as well as people with amblyopia and their families.  
Vision Research invites original articles and review papers that highlight research and new discoveries, including, but not limited to:

Mechanisms of amblyopia development and recovery
Novel diagnostic techniques and screening approaches
Advances in amblyopia treatment modalities (e.g., patching, pharmacological interventions, new technologies)
Neurobiological insights into visual processing deficits in amblyopia
Impact of amblyopia on visual function and quality of life
Oculomotor behaviors and their functional interactions with amblyopia
Clinical trials and outcomes-based research relevant to amblyopia management

Submission Guidelines:

Authors are invited to submit original research articles, reviews, and clinical studies addressing the above topics or related areas. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review to ensure scientific rigor and relevance to the field. Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the journal’s guidelines for authors and submitted online via the journal’s submission system: https://www.editorialmanager.com/vr/default2.aspx

Submission Open Date: July 14, 2024
Final Manuscript Submission Deadline: January 1, 2025
Editorial Acceptance Deadline: September 1, 2025

Submissions for this feature issue will be coordinated by a distinguished Guest Editorial Team and all accepted manuscripts will be published together in a single feature issue of Vision Research.
