The department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at Colgate University is
hiring for a tenure-stream position in human cognitive science or human
cognitive neuroscience. If you know of candidates who care equally about

*Tenure-Stream Assistant Professor Position in Human Cognitive
Science/Cognitive Neuroscience *
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Colgate University
invites applications for a tenure-stream position in the area of human
cognitive science or human cognitive neuroscience at the rank of Assistant
Professor beginning in the fall semester of 2025. The specific area of
research within human cognition is open. Completion of Ph.D. is required
prior to or shortly after the date of hire.
Colgate is a top liberal arts college where excellence in teaching and
research are expected and supported. The successful candidate will join a
psychological science and neuroscience faculty deeply committed to a
strong, research-oriented program and to a curriculum that integrates
psychological science and neuroscience perspectives. The department is
housed in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art building with cutting-edge
facilities to support research in human cognition and human cognitive
neuroscience. Colgate supports faculty in their research program through
competitive startup funds, internal funding mechanisms, and support for
pursuing external funding. Colgate has inaugurated a new Mind, Brain and
Behavior Initiative

that provides support and opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and
collaborative research.
The teaching load is equivalent to five courses per year. Teaching
responsibilities are likely to include staff-taught courses (e.g.,
Introduction to Psychological Science, Research Methods, or Quantitative
Methods), elective courses in the candidate’s specialty area, and
supervision of senior thesis work (which normally counts as one course
load). The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to
all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum

the position is filled. Candidates should prepare a cover letter,

of three people who can provide letters of recommendation. As Colgate

The salary range is $92,300 (for ABD applicants) to $96,300 (for applicants
