      I invite applications for *One **fully funded Ph.D**. in Computer
Vision and Machine Learning and One part-time research engineer position
working on a short-term project* at my Image and Video Understanding (IVU)
Lab in Ontario Tech University, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada*.* I am an
assistant professor in Ontario Tech University and an affiliate professor
in University of British Columbia, focusing on scene and video
understanding, data efficient learning, vision foundation models and
interpretability. For more details, check here

Ontario Tech University*, *Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.


The topic of the *PhD* position: *"Building and Adapting Vision Foundation
Models for Pixel-level Video Understanding".*

The *Research Engineer *position will be working on a short-term basis from
six months up to a year on the topic of "*Interpretability of Vision
Foundation Models for Remote Sensing"*.


*Minimum requirements:*

- For the PhD position a thesis based MSc/MASc degree in Computer Science
or related topics.

- A minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.3 scale.

- For the research engineer position MSc/MASc/MEng degree or other
project/course based Master's degree is sufficient.

- A valid work permit or permanent residency/citizenship in Canada is
required for the research engineer position.


*What to expect:*

- You will be collaborating with other graduate students and postdocs in
IVU Lab in OntarioTech under my supervision.

- The PhD position will provide funds to cover the tuition fees and the
monthly salary for the student through a combination of TAship and RAship.

- The research engineer position will be hourly paid and can allow for
remote work within Canada.
