**** Call for Special Sessions ****

*29th Conference on Medical Image Understanding and Analysis (MIUA
2025) *invites
proposals for the organisation of *special sessions* that will be held in
parallel with the general conference track. The themes of
the special sessions should focus on a specific topic in medical image
analysis. All accepted papers will be included in the conference
proceedings. We expect all accepted tracks to adhere to the conference
paper submission guidelines and reviewing schedule.

*Special Session Requirements and Information*

The organisers of a special session must comply with the below:

   - A *specific website with information *about the special session will
   be linked to the *MIUA 2025 webpage*. The organisers must provide
   information regarding special track description, list of topics, call for
   papers, submission information, program committee members and any other
   information (also see submission guidelines below)
   - *Special session papers will be peer-reviewed through CMT* and managed
   by the MIUA committee to ensure the quality of the paper accepted. The
   special session organisers can provide the pool of reviewers they want to
   use for their special session review process.
   - *Registration and attendance: *
      - At least one organising member must register and attend/chair the
      session in person at MIUA 2025
      - At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the
      conference
   - *Other relevant info.*
      - For similar topics, we may ask organisers to merge the sessions.
      Accepted special sessions must have at least 6 papers accepted to run a
      session. In the case of a lesser number, the session will be merged with
      the main conference track.
      - Organisers can invite abstract submissions, but this will not count
      to 6 paper requirements to run a separate session.


*Important Dates:*
Deadline for special track proposal: January 6, 2025
Special session notification acceptance: January 15, 2025

*Conference dates:* 15th - 17th July 2025
*Venue:* University of Leeds, Leeds, UK

*Submission Guidelines:*
Each proposal must include:
Title
Expected number of submissions
Short biography of the special session organiser(s)
Special session program committee members (if any)
A draft for the “Call for papers” (with important dates same as the main
conference)
Link to webpage draft (if any)
Appropriate journal for follow-up special issue publication (if any)
