The new members will join our continuing SPC members Noah Britt, McMaster University; Amy Bucklaew, University of Rochester; Victoria Jacoby, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School; and Brady Roberts, University of Chicago to make up the SPC for 2025-2026.

VSS also thanks the outgoing SPC members, Akihito Maruya, State University of New York and Jes Parker, University of Tennessee-Knoxville for their many important contributions and their dedication to VSS.

The SPC advises the VSS Board and membership about how events, workshops, meeting structure, and activities can best target the needs of trainee members and attendees.

All the events are structured to foster discussions and interactions. Early career scientists are particularly encouraged to attend.

Selected by the VSS Board of Directors, the new SPC members will serve on the committee for a two-year term commencing in June 2025.

Meet the Professors

Students and postdocs are invited to the 10th annual “Meet the Professors” event. This year’s event will follow a similar format to last year’s. There will be up to five, short, 15-minute meetings in small groups. Chat about science, VSS, career issues, work/life balance, or whatever comes up. Or just connect with a new VSS colleague.

Space will be limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Each student/postdoc will meet with five professors.
