Dear all,
We're recruiting 2 Research Assistants (RAs) to join the UCL Child Vision Lab under Prof. Tessa Dekker and Dr. Roni Maimon-Mor - please help pass this on to any suitable candidates!
The lab is based at two UCL departments located in the heart of London (Experimental Psychology and Ophthalmology), and part of a vibrant community of researchers. The successful candidate will help with all aspects of clinically important research on visual cognition, visual impairment, and rehabilitation with children and adults, and will gain valuable skills in advanced neuroimaging, programming, and research management. For roles and criteria, see below.
The positions are full-time, and for 1 year in the first instance, but with scope to extend to 3 years. Desired start-date is Jan 2026. Visa sponsorship for EU/international applicants is possible.

More details about the positions:
Role: the RAs will support visual neuroscience experiments with children and adults with healthy vision and eye disease. They will assist with research involving computer tasks, eye tracking, neuroimaging (fMRI/EEG). They will be involved with all aspects of the work in the lab, including participant recruitment, task development, ethics applications, data-collection, and analysis, and will report research findings at local meetings, international conferences, and via newsletters. They will also lead on managing the lab's webpages, social media, databases, and administrative work processes.
Essential Criteria: Applicants should have a BSc or MSc degree in cognitive science, neuroscience, or equivalent, excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and computer skills, and a clear interest in the research in the lab.
Desired Criteria: Experience with relevant research techniques (vision tests/eye-tracking/MRI/EEG/VR), programming software (R, Matlab, Python), working with children, patients, or other challenging populations, and working in scientific-, or ophthalmological settings are a plus. However, extensive training and supervision will be provided in all aspects of the work, so candidates lacking direct experience but possessing necessary background skills, technical aptitude, and a desire to learn, are encouraged to apply. This post is an excellent preparation for a PhD.
