Postdoctoral Fellowship – Machine Learning & Explainable AI for Retinal Imaging
The NOVA Lab<http://visualcognition.ca/ipek/> at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join a CIHR-funded project applying machine learning and explainable AI to the analysis of retinal images.
Qualifications
* Recent PhD preferably in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, or a related field
* Strong experience in deep learning and post-hoc interpretability methods
* Background in image processing; experience with retinal or medical images is an asset but not required
The Position
You will work within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, in close collaboration with the Department of Mathematics at UBC. The role offers opportunities to publish in top venues, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to impactful research at the intersection of AI and health.

The position is based in Vancouver, Canada—a diverse, vibrant city surrounded by mountains and ocean, consistently ranked among the world’s most livable cities.
