The Graduate Program in Physiological Optics & Vision Science at the University of Houston College of Optometry is now accepting applications for its doctoral (PhD) and master of science (MS) programs.
The deadline for applications for Fall 2026 is January 31, 2026

The Graduate Program provides students with a broad base of knowledge in the vision sciences, as well as the resources and environment for students
to develop expertise in specific areas of interest in vision research. Students receive tuition fellowships and stipends as teaching or research assistants.
Graduate students work side-by side with collaborative group of accomplished  basic, clinical and translational vision scientists studying normal and abnormal visual processes using a variety of approaches ranging from molecular and cellular, to behavioral and optical:

Research areas of focus include: Biomedical Optics, Visual Neuroscience, Ocular Biology and Clinical and Translational Research

Educational requirements include a minimum of a BS degree (or equivalent) in biological or physical sciences, engineering, optometry or medicine.
The ideal candidate would have research interests and experience in vision or related sciences.
