2 Postdoctoral positions at the InnoHK Centre for Eye and Vision Research (Vision Enhancement Team, RP 1.5)
The InnoHK Centre for Eye and Vision Research (CEVR) is looking to hire two post-doctoral fellows to join our team with an appointment period of up-to 3 years.
The appointee will be working in the group with Dr. Ken Tan, and Prof. Benjamin Thompson at The Hong Kong Science Park, N.T., Hong Kong.
Research background
The topic of research is Novel Neuromodulation approaches for Vision Enhancement in adults, exploring novel techniques for enhancing neuroplasticity using non-invasive brain stimulation, and perceptual learning. The team employs psychophysical, eye tracking, and electrophysiological techniques. Our research aims to develop the next generation of non-invasive brain stimulation technologies and protocols to enable optimal rehabilitation of vision across a range of eye and brain disorders that affect sight.
Prerequisites
* Doctoral degree relating to vision science (e.g., optometry, psychology, neuroscience, or related fields)
* Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal
* Experience with programming languages such as Python, and/or MATLAB
* Excellent communication, analytic, and software skills
* Strong team working skills are essential
* Overseas graduates are welcome to apply, the qualification awarding institution should be the top 100 institutions for STEM-related subjects in QS/Shanghai Jiao Tong Uni/Times Higher Education world university rankings. Desirable
* Previous experience with at least one of the following: non-invasive brain stimulation (e.g., transcranial magnetic stimulation, transcranial electrical stimulation), EEG, or eye tracking
* Clinical optometry background or knowledge of clinical techniques
* Previous experience employing psychophysical methods, as evidenced by conference attendance, publications, etc.
* Preference will be given to applicants who have proven experience with non-invasive brain stimulation techniques and/or experience conducting research with elderly populations, including those with visual impairments.
Remuneration
* Monthly salary: Postdoctoral Fellow (HKD35000 + living allowance HKD 10000).
