[visionlist] Workshop on Perceptual Inferences (June 2026, Marburg, Germany)

Hi everyone,

We are thrilled to announce the workshop "Perceptual Inferences: from
philosophy to neuroscience", which is organized by Alexander Schütz
<https://www.uni-marburg.de/en/fb04/team-schuetz> and Daniel Kaiser
<https://www.danielkaiser.net/>. The workshop will take place at
Rauischholzhausen
Castle <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rauischholzhausen_Castle> (near
Marburg, Germany) from 8-10 June 2026, starting on June 8th at 12pm and
ending on June 10th at 2pm. The workshop is supported by the ERC and by the
Cluster of Excellence "The Adaptive Mind".

In the workshop, we will cover diverse aspects of how perceptual inferences
are generated and how they are used to facilitate how we conceive the
world. We assembled a set of exciting international speakers who will
discuss philosophical considerations, experimental findings from behavioral
and neuroimaging studies, and who are interested in a variety of topics
ranging from low-level vision and social perception all the way to
unconscious processing.

In addition to participating, we invite you to contribute posters and use

We ask for a participation fee of 240€ from all attendees, which will cover
accomodation and meals during the workshop. Note that you'll have to
organize the trip to Rauischholzhausen yourself. We will send a
confirmation email after the registration period, which will include
payment information. Your registration will only become effective once you
paid the fee.
