Position: post-doctoral (2 years)
Locations: Paris, France (Ecole Normale Supérieure / CNRS) and Lausanne, Switzerland (University of Lausanne / CHUV)
Deadline: September 4th, 2026
Start Date: Fall 2026 (with some flexibility)

The "Laboratoire des Systèmes Perceptifs" (Pascal Mamassian, ENS/CNRS) and the "Psychophysics and Neural Dynamics Lab" (David Pascucci, University of Lausanne and Lausanne University Hospital, CHUV) invite applications for a post-doctoral position (2 years) supported by the ANR-SNSF "FLUCTUAT" (perceptual fluctuations) project.

The project addresses a central question: "Why do individuals differ in how temporal context shapes their perceptual judgments?" We will address this through visual psychophysics and computational modeling methods, focusing on the interaction between endogenous perceptual traits and external factors. The successful candidate will be primarily based in Paris, with research visits to Lausanne, allowing engagement with two complementary research environments.

Candidate profile
Applicants should hold a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience in visual psychophysics is strongly valued.

Preferred skills
- Psychophysics software (e.g., Psychtoolbox, PsychoPy)
-  Programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++)
- Computational modeling (e.g. Bayesian models, Kalman filters)
-  Statistical analysis (e.g., in R)
- Dedication to data collection in task batteries

We seek dedicated, enthusiastic candidates with strong motivation to contribute to interdisciplinary research. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and genders.
