Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for AINIME: AI for Animation, a workshop to be held at WACV 2027.

AINIME will bring together researchers and practitioners working on AI for animation, with topics covering the full production pipeline for natural and anime-style videos, including:

  *   Image- and text-to-video animation.

  *   Motion control with diffusion models and world models.

  *   Temporal coherence, identity preservation, and style consistency.

  *   Evaluation metrics and benchmarks for animated and natural video.

  *   Anime restoration, super-resolution, colorization, captioning, and post-production.

  *
Manga, comics, and anime applications, including content understanding, generation, enhancement, localization, accessibility, and creative-production tools.
  *   Responsible and production-aware creative AI.

We invite regular archival papers of 5–8 pages, excluding references, following the WACV formatting and submission guidelines. Accepted regular papers will be published in the WACV 2027 Workshop Proceedings.

October 15, 2026

Anime Restoration Challenge

AINIME will also host the Anime Restoration Challenge on Re-Anime600, focusing on anime video restoration, upscaling, and quality enhancement.

Participants in the challenge will also have the opportunity to submit their work to the AINIME workshop. Further details regarding the challenge tasks, evaluation protocol, submission procedure, and eligibility will be announced shortly on the official workshop website.
