Dear colleagues,
We invite proposals for Special Sessions at the 2027 Picture Coding Symposium (PCS), to be held on 7–10 June 2027 in Mexico City, Mexico. PCS is an international forum dedicated to advances in visual data coding. Its 39th edition will also host CLIC 2027, the 8th Challenge on Learned Image Compression. Special Sessions will complement the regular technical program by bringing together contributions on timely and emerging research topics. Each session should focus on a specific topic relevant to the PCS community.
Proposal requirements
Proposals should include:
The session title and the names of the organizers.
A description of the session (maximum 250 words), highlighting the novelty and importance of the topic.
Short biographies and contact details of the organizers.
A list of five invited papers, including titles, authors, corresponding authors’ contact details, and short abstracts. Each organizer should be an author of no more than one paper in the session.
Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness of the topic, the organizers’ track record, and the anticipated quality of the papers. Special Session papers must follow the regular paper format and undergo a similar peer-review process. Accepted sessions will be scheduled as oral sessions; if too few invited papers are accepted, sessions may be supplemented with papers from the open call.
