Dear colleagues,
The Cardiff Babylab<https://www.cardiff-babylab.com/>, led by Dr Hana D’Souza, is advertising three full-time postdoctoral positions at Cardiff University, initially for one year.
The lab investigates how attentional and motor development shape the ways young children engage with, adapt to, influence, and learn from their everyday environments. The team brings together expertise in developmental psychology, computer science, and applied research, studying typically developing infants and toddlers alongside young children with developmental conditions, with a particular focus on Down syndrome.
There may also be opportunities to collaborate with my lab to investigate how exploration self-organises in the first years of life, using rich first-person head-mounted camera data collected in infants’ homes. We are particularly interested in how infants actively sample their visual worlds: what they see, how movement changes their visual input, how everyday experience is structured, and how these patterns change across development.
The Cardiff Babylab is especially keen to hear from applicants whose expertise complements its work in developmental science, naturalistic measurement, behavioural methods, computational approaches, and multimodal data analysis.
These posts offer an opportunity to join an active, collaborative research environment and gain experience across complementary methods and research populations.

 Deadline: 25 Oct 2026

 Informal enquiries: DSouzaH at cardiff.ac.uk
