<div dir="ltr"><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:arial;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">Descripti</span><span style="background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">on: The Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR) at the University of Minnesota is seeking a post-doctoral scholar to participate in a recently-funded BRAIN Initiative grant: “Neurons, Vessels, and Voxels: Multi-Modal Imaging of Layer-Specific Signals”. PIs on this grant are Drs. Kamil Ugurbil and Cheryl Olman at the University of Minnesota and Drs. Thomas Naselaris and Prakash Kara at the Medical University of South Carolina. The project will utilize two-photon imaging and ultrahigh field (up to 16.4T) MR instruments to investigate at the highest possible resolution the distinct functional roles of laminae in visual cortex, and the relationship between BOLD and neuronal signaling. Postdoctoral team members at the CMRR may travel to work with collaborators at the Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, SC). <font face="arial"><span style="font-size:9.5pt">Research</span></font><font face="arial"><span style="font-size:9.5pt"> will focus on acquisition and analysis of functional MRI data at 7T and 10.5T, from experiment design, pulse sequence optimization, recruitment of human subjects for experiments and development of analysis and visualization techniques to integration of data with computational models of human visual cortex. A significant portion of the job will entail development of novel approaches distortion compensation in functional MRI data and cortical segmentation of functional and/or anatomical MRI data to improve the accuracy of depth-dependent and column-level data analyses.</span></font></span><span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:arial"><br>

<span style="background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering or a related field </span></span>and English language proficiency.<span style="font-size:9.5pt;font-family:arial"><span style="background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"> Preferred qualifications are: experience working with human subjects and MRI data acquisition, and/or pulse sequence programming (Siemens console/IDEA programming and field strength above 3T preferred), expertise in computer programming (python preferred), experience analyzing fMRI data (AFNI preferred) and with visual stimulus design and display calibration. Preference will be given to individuals from groups, institutions or geographical regions currently underrepresented in the imaging community. <span></span></span></span></p>
