<div class="PlainText">Both lists are potentially useful, if for nothing else but to help non-experts/lay-public decide the reputability of some study they are reading about.
<br>
But, scientists should have learned to be critical enough to question the legitimacy of a Journal before submitting there, and if not, I would assume they would at least ask their peers.<br>

The directory of open-access journals (<a href="http://doaj.org/">http://doaj.org/</a>) is in effect such a resource. Although it takes the opposite approach: listing journals that it considers legit, rather than blacklisting those it doesn't. I think that's
much more constructive that Beall's list.<br>
