is not exclusively driven by sensory input but is shaped by expectation, knowledge, and experience (so-called priors). In the last two decades, this insight has been formalised in the context of Bayesian models of perception. Using such models, priors can
be indirectly estimated by examining systematic biases in perception. This </span>

project aims to develop and use novel measures of Bayesian priors to investigate how they vary across individuals and across the senses. In particular, the project focuses on the extent to which certain priors generalise across vision and hearing. Our labs
are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for psychophysical testing of vision and hearing, as well as the measurement of eye and head movements. There will be an opportunity to use computational methods. </span><!--EndFragment--></p>
