computer programming skills who would enjoy the challenge of working with <b><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in">virtual reality systems (Oculus Rift head-mounted display)</span></b> and <b><span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in">image
processing (computational photography and light-field)</span></b> for people with vision impairments.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

software for captured light-field images. Developed software will be tested by simulating vision with visual prostheses. Experience in vision science, optics, GPU processing, head-mounted display, or background in a related research field would be advantageous.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white;vertical-align:baseline"><span style="font-family:"inherit","serif";color:black">PhD in an area related to computer science (or electrical/biomedical engineering) is required. Good problem-solving skills, strong
interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently on multiple tasks are essential. Knowledge of human vision, statistics or experience with visually impaired people would be a plus. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
