Optics Eye Research at UC Berkeley<span></span></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">The lab of <a href="http://roorda.vision.berkeley.edu/" style="color:rgb(5,99,193);text-decoration:underline">Austin
Roorda</a> is looking for a postdoc to work on the development and use of advanced
optical systems to measure structure and function in the human retina. The
specific system will combine a state-of-the-art AO scanning laser
ophthalmoscope, with high-speed-high-accuracy eye tracking and phase-resolved
AO-OCT. <span> </span>The ultimate goal is to perform
all-optical recording of neural activity in a living human retina on a cellular
scale. The project is supported by a grant from the National Eye Institute
through the <a href="https://nei.nih.gov/audacious" style="color:rgb(5,99,193);text-decoration:underline">Audacious Goals Initiative</a>.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in
designing and building complex optical systems. Specific experience with
ophthalmoscopy, adaptive optics, phase-resolved OCT, image processing, optical
design are all desirable. <span></span></p>
