<li class=""><strong class="">Mehul Bhatt, PhD</strong> - Centre for Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems, Örebro University, Sweden / CoDesign Lab EU</li><li class=""><strong class="">Larry Burns, PhD</strong> - former VP of Research General Motors, previous The Eye, a consultant to the Google AV project.</li><li class=""><strong class="">David Cole, PhD</strong> - Chairman Emeritus of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Chairman of Auto Harvest and Chair of Building America’s Tomorrow (BAT). Former Director of the Office for the Study
of Automotive Transportation (OSAT) at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute.</li><li class=""><strong class="">Jennifer Dukarski, JD</strong>- Based in Butzel Long's Ann Arbor office, practicing in the areas of intellectual property, media and technology; focusing on the intersection of technology and communications with an emphasis on
the legal issues arising from emerging and disruptive innovation: vehicle safety, connected and autonomous cars, data privacy and security, patient portals and telehealth, infotainment, and mobile apps.</li><li class=""><strong class="">Gary Shapiro, JD</strong> – President and CEO Consumer Technology Association (CTA), representing 2,200+ consumer tech companies which owns and produces CES (Consumer Electronics Show) – The Global Stage for Innovation.<br class="">

Although the agenda is filling up swiftly, there are a few spots available for presentations of up to 30 minutes in length.<br class="">

Each morning of the three-day congress we will examine the medical aspects of vision and driving. And, of special importance, we will consider how vision and cognition continue to play significant, though changing, roles over time as we approach SAE vehicle
autonomy levels Four and Five.<br class="">

The afternoons will focus on the role that autonomous vehicle technology might play in health care. Besides the obvious improvement in access to health care facilities and physicians, biometric sensors within the vehicle itself will gather and transmit real
time data from occupants to medical caregivers. Research efforts along these lines, among leading vehicle manufacturers, their tier one suppliers, and mobility companies, are already well underway and are of great interest to us in health care. <br class="">

The savings in lives and in health care dollars to be derived by reduced motor vehicle mayhem in both the civilian and military worlds make this congress of great interest —- and of international importance. <br class="">
