We are pleased to invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the Institute of Behavioural Neuroscience (IBN) at University College London. The project is funded by a MRC grant awarded to Sam Solomon, Aman Saleem, Francesca Cacucci, and
their collaborators at Eli Lilly. The project aims to understand how adaptive information processing is altered in neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimers Disease, using vision as a model system. We are interested in how neurodegeneration changes circuit
function, particularly sensory plasticity, and whether these changes can be used to predict and track the extent of degeneration. The project will involve multi-channel electrophysiology and behavioural measurements in awake wild type and transgenic mice.

The successful candidate will be expected to design, conduct and analyse data from electrophysiology, histological and behavioural experiments. The appointee will also be expected to contribute to the writing of manuscripts and presenting the data at international
conferences. Strong support for personal and professional development will be available.

Applicants must hold a PhD, or have submitted their thesis, in neuroscience/psychology and have experience of neural recording in animals. The ability to work as part of a research team is essential, as is the ability to problem-solve in a technical setting.
Computer skills including Matlab programming are desirable. Particular importance will be given to experience with multi-electrode recording and high-level analytic skills.
