Professor Robert Rafal, a cognitive and behavioral neurologist whose career
focused on better understanding the neural underpinnings of attention,
consciousness, eye movements, and perception. <span style="background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">During
his highly influential research career so far, Professor Rafal has elucidated
important and distinct roles of the superior colliculus, thalamus, and the
temporo-parietal junction in the orienting of attention, and also demonstrated
unconscious processing in blindsight and hemispatial neglect.</span></span></p>
