<p class="MsoNormal">Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Position Available</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">A two-year postdoctoral research position in glaucoma diagnostics is available within the Discoveries in Sight Research Laboratories at Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon, USA.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The project will be supervised by Dr Stuart Gardiner and is in the broad field of glaucoma research. The project involves developing and testing new diagnostic techniques for both data collection and analysis. Data come from clinical studies
of patients with glaucoma and normal control subjects. Depending on the candidate’s background and interests, opportunities will be available to gain experience in other areas of vision and eye research.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Knowledge and/or experience of clinical ophthalmology and vision research are both strongly desired for this project; together with an interest in furthering our understanding of the disease, and improving diagnostic techniques for the
detection and monitoring of glaucoma.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Candidates with an advanced degree (MD and/or PhD) and the following skills/expertise are encouraged to apply:</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Psychophysics</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Experimental design</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Data analysis using R and/or other statistical programming languages</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Glaucoma</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Other desirable skills include expertise with office productivity software (e.g. Microsoft Office), and knowledge of the relevant literature. Proficiency with the English language and scientific writing is essential. A record of first-authored
publication(s) in peer-reviewed literature is highly desirable.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Successful candidates will work within a highly collaborative research environment that includes five Principal Investigators active in glaucoma research, from a wide range of different academic backgrounds, as well as external collaborators.
