<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt"><font size="2"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span>We investigate mechanisms involved in integrating visually-guided action and higher-order cognitive processes such as decision-making, target selection, visual memory, and attention as well as visuomotor learning. We use the techniques of psychophysics, behavioral measurements of the eye and arm movement trajectories, functional neuroimaging (fMRI) and EEG. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt"><font size="2"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span>We are particularly interested in a postdoctoral fellow who can facilitate a new collaboration with Dr. Dietmar Heinke at University of Birmingham, UK (<a href="https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/staff/profiles/psychology/heinke-dietmar.aspx"><span style="color:blue">https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/staff/profiles/psychology/heinke-dietmar.aspx</span></a>) to understand the relation between attention and action selection supported by NSF grant (pending). This is a full-time, 1-year position with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance. <br>
<br>The successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or other closely related fields with a strong research background in vision and action.<span style="color:black"> The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be strongly motivated, and work well in a team setting. </span>Excellent programming skills (e.g., Matlab) are essential. <span></span></span></span></font></p>
