3-year PhD position at the Dept of Psychology (Otto-von-Guericke University
Magdeburg, Germany), in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute for
Neurobiology (LIN) and the DZNE Magdeburg. </span><span style="line-height:115%">The position will be in the field of
cognitive neuroscience in the context of a Bial Grant, investigating the neural
mechanisms of Autosuggestion. </span><span style="line-height:115%" lang="EN">The candidate will investigate how </span><span style="line-height:115%">the inner
repetition of an idea influences sensations at the body on a phenomenological,
behavioural, and neurophysiological level. </span><span style="line-height:115%" lang="EN">The key aims of the PhD project<b> </b>are <b>(i)</b> to develop a behavioral paradigm that can induce alterations of
tactile (and/or pain) percepts through autosuggestion and <b>(ii)</b> to investigate which neural micro-circuits underlie our
ability to alter our own bodily percepts using machine learning, 7 Tesla fMRI
and EEG. The candidate will be involved in 7T-fMRI experiments and well as

Campus Magdeburg</b> is a unique and word-leading research campus in the heart
of Magdeburg, Germany, that conducts multi-disciplinary, cutting-edge research
by uniquely combining knowledge of the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg
and non-University Research Centers such as the German Center for
Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE, part of Helmholtz Society) and the Leibniz
Institute for Neurobiology (LIN), creating a vibrant research environment with regular
internal and invited talk series and multiple platforms for student interaction.
The Science Campus Magdeburg offers state-of-the-art research facilities,
including several research-dedicated 3-Tesla and one 7-Tesla MRI scanner, one

science or related field. Experience in Matlab programming (or similar) and
high proficiency in spoken and written English are mandatory. Experience in
either fMRI, MEG, EEG analyses or psychophysics is desirable, but it is not a
