<p><b>Professorship (W1, tenure track) in Visual Computing</b><br>
</p>
<p>The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics of the Johann
Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main<br>
invites applications for the following position at the Institute
of Computer Science, which is funded by the Tenure<br>
Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal
States (BLP-TT), starting at the earliest<br>
possible date:</p>
<p>The initial tenure track appointment as Assistant Professor
(Civil Servant or Public Employee) is for six years<br>
according to § 64 of the Higher Education Act of the State of
Hessen (HHG). Upon positive evaluation, the incumbent<br>
will be promoted to a permanent position at a higher level (W2).
The invitation to apply aims to reach early-stage<br>
researchers. According to § 64 (3) HHG candidates should not have
obtained their PhD at Goethe University<br>
Frankfurt or should have worked as a researcher at an external
institution for at least two years after their PhD. The<br>
doctorate should not date back to more than four years.</p>
<p>We are seeking a candidate widely recognized for excellent
research in one or several of the research areas<br>
<b>Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Scientific Visualization, or
Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality </b>to<br>
complement our current team.</p>
<p>We expect the candidate to have finished a doctorate (with grades
at least ‘very good’, if obtained within Germany)<br>
and to possess an excellent track record of scientific
publications. The professorship is embedded in the attractive<br>
research landscape in Frankfurt within and outside of the
university (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.goethe-university-frankfurt.de">http://www.goethe-university-frankfurt.de</a><br>
/en?locale=en). There are intensive collaborations with the
Cluster of Excellence Cardio Pulmonary Institute (CPI)<br>
and with other research institutions both within and outside of
the university. Experience in the acquisition of third party<br>
funded projects is desirable. The successful applicant is expected
to cooperate with other research teams and<br>
to connect to the research topics of the Institute of Computer
Science, the Department and Goethe University.<br>
We are looking for a dedicated academic teacher who will be
actively involved in our graduate and undergraduate<br>
programs. Upon positive tenure evaluation, a substantial
participation in the basic courses in programming is<br>
expected. Successful candidates will be required to participate in
the academic self-government.<br>
The designated salary for the position is based on the German
university pay scale or equivalent. Goethe University<br>
