<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:#444444">A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available at the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of St. Andrews, UK in the laboratory of Dr. Dhanraj Vishwanath.<span style="">
</span>The research involves behavioural experiments (psychophysics, motion tracking) aimed at understanding mechanisms underlying human stereoscopic depth perception and 3D space perception. The successful candidate will design and implement experimental studies
using custom 3D apparatus and VR.<span style=""> </span>The post entails stimulus and experimental software generation, conducting psychophysical experiments, analysing results, presenting the research at international conferences and writing up the studies
for publications in scientific journals.<span style=""> </span></span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:#444444">The successful candidate will have (or is about to obtain) a Ph.D. in one of the main research disciplines in vision science such as experimental or cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, computer
science, optometry, or in a related discipline with a strong motivation to conduct research in vision science.<span style="">
</span>The candidate should have experience with scientific programming (e.g. Matlab, C++, Python), excellent familiarity with statistical methods, and facility with setting up experimental hardware. Experience with experimental and/or computational approaches
to 3D visual perception (particularly stereoscopic vision), VR, 3D computer graphics will be advantageous. Self-motivation, an ability to work with others, as well as good presentation skills are essential.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif; color:#444444">The post is for a duration of 1 year and is funded by the Leverhulme Trust. It will be conducted in Dr. Dhanraj Vishwanath’s lab which is part of the Vision Group at the School of Psychology & Neuroscience.
