This is your opportunity to apply for the Interdisciplinary Summer School “Measuring Natural Illumination” organised by the Daylight Academy (20-24 July 2020). Using Horace Bénédict de Saussure’s cyanometer (1789) for measuring the colour of the sky as a starting
 point, you will develop an interdisciplinary understanding of measurement and characterisation of light in the natural environment.<br class="">

- Effects of light on human physiology<br class="">
- Understanding colour, light, illumination<br class="">

This residential summer school combines lectures, practical workshops, an excursion and a student-led research project. The summer school is open to students at all levels, researchers and practitioners from all disciplines interested in measuring natural illumination.<br class="">

To apply, please complete the application form detailing educational background, motivation and a sketch of a short research project to be completed during the summer school by the application deadline (28 February 2020).<br class="">

Places are limited. There are no course and tuition fees. Accommodation and meals will be provided. Successful applicants will need to pay for their own travel.<br class="">

<u class="">Please note</u>: The summer school starts the morning of Monday, 20 July, so participants would need to plan to arrive the evening of Sunday, 19 July.<br class="">
