<span style="font-size: inherit;">I have two fully funded PhD openings in the field of scene perception and computational modeling, including deep neural network modeling and machine learning. The research projects will focus on</span><span style="font-size: inherit;"> the
neural mechanisms underlying rapid extraction of global scene information such as the layout and navigational affordances of the visual environment, using</span><span style="font-size: inherit;"> a combination of neuroimaging, computational modeling, and behavioral
studies in humans. The ideal candidate will have experience in collection and analysis of human neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG, or MEG) as well as familiarity with computational modeling and/or machine learning. </span><br>

The candidates will be appointed at the Intelligent Sensory Information Systems group at the Institute for Informatics at the Science Faculty at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The offer will consist of a<span style=""> temporary contract for
38 hours per week preferably<span> </span><a dir="ltr" href="outlook-data-detector://0" style="text-decoration-color: rgb(0, 134, 240) !important;">starting October 1st, 2020</a><span> </span>for the duration of 4 years (initial contract will be for a period
of 18 months and after satisfactory evaluation it will be extended for a total duration of 4 years) and should lead to a dissertation (PhD thesis). The candidates will get a customized Training and Supervision Plan, that will be evaluated every year. Please
note that in The Netherlands a master’s degree is required in order to be eligible for a PhD position. </span></div>
