available in basic and clinical vision science, as part of a
collaboration between the labs of Steve Engel (<a
moz-do-not-send="true" href="engellab.psych.umn.edu">engellab.psych.umn.edu</a>),
Gordon Legge (<a href="http://gellab.psych.umn.edu/">gellab.psych.umn.edu</a>),
and The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences. The goal
of the project is to develop and test novel assistive technology
for people with age-related macular degeneration. Research aims to
improve reading in people with visual field loss, and to
understand general factors limiting reading performance.
Requirements include skill in programming vision experiments;
experience with eye tracking, virtual reality, and/or testing of
reading would be beneficial. The initial appointment would be for
1 year, with renewal opportunities for several additional years.
Start date is early fall of 2020, negotiable. Salary is at NIH
rates.

<div>The position also provides opportunity to develop additional
collaborations with the large and highly collaborative Vision
Science community at The University of Minnesota, which includes
The Center for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, as well as the unique
interdisciplinary Center for Applied and Translational Sensory
Sciences (<a href="http://catss.umn.edu/" moz-do-not-send="true">http://catss.umn.edu</a>),
which will host the project.
