<span class="">We are pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue of Visual Cognition on </span><b class="">Interactive Cognition. </b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: ArialMT; line-height: 14.949999809265137px;">
For decades, human cognitive processes have almost exclusively been studied in passive conditions in which a single observer is asked to respond to changes in experimental stimuli with no reciprocal interactions. This approach is rapidly changing, with emerging
research exploring how cognitive processes are engaged during reciprocal interactions when we not only respond to stimuli and other agents but actively engage with them. The aim of this special issue is to showcase experimental work that highlight current
issues and future directions in this new area.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: ArialMT;"><o:p class=""></o:p></p>
<b class="" style="font-family: ArialMT;">Topic Coverage</b><span style="font-family: ArialMT;" class="">: The original experimental studies that will be considered must include an interactive component. This means reciprocal interactions between the participant
and the experimental stimuli or between two or more participants. In the broader context however we are also interested in receiving submissions on group processes and crowd monitoring, perceptions, and behaviors to showcase the research on groups and crowds.
The interactive part may occur via keyboard key presses, such as stimuli presented on a computer screen responding to participants’ actions, or between participants in dyads, groups, or collaborative tasks. The studies’ aims and data would need to bear on
visual processes (e.g., attention, visual perception) or directly inform on the interactions between visual processes and functions like action, memory, communication, social inference, or group dynamics. Methodologies (e.g., performance, eye tracking, neuroimaging),
contexts (e.g., experimental, real-world, computational), and participant populations (e.g., human-robot interactions) can vary.</span><br class="" style="font-family: ArialMT;">

1, 2020. </b><span class="" style="font-family: ArialMT; line-height: 16.866666793823242px;">All submissions will undergo normal, full peer review process, maintaining the same high editorial standards for regular submissions to Visual Cognition.</span><span style="font-family: ArialMT;" class=""> The
submissions will be managed by the Visual Cognition’s online submission system. The deadline for paper submissions is </span><b class="" style="font-family: ArialMT;">January 1, 2021</b><span style="font-family: ArialMT;" class="">. Please include a cover
letter with names and contact information for three suitable reviewers. Papers may be submitted before this deadline, as they will be published online ahead of the print issue as they become accepted. </span>
