Recently we have begun to increase our efforts to become even more “real” by collaborating with Educational Psychology Department and especially with <a href="https://www.goethe-university-frankfurt.de/72563000/Horz?" class=""><span style="color: rgb(0, 121, 205);" class="">Psychology of Teaching and Learning Unit</span></a> at the Goethe University using VR in educational settings. In this collaborative project, which is part of the BMBF funded <a href="https://www.uni-frankfurt.de/87779603/Digi_Gap___Digitale_L%C3%BCcken_in_der_Lehrkr%C3%A4ftebildung_schlie%C3%9Fen" class=""><span style="color: rgb(0, 121, 205);" class="">“Digi_Gap – Closing Digital Gaps in Teacher Education“</span></a> project we will be training teachers by, e.g. confronting them with various critical school scenarios in VR.</div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; color: rgb(39, 39, 39); min-height: 14px;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; line-height: normal; color: rgb(39, 39, 39);" class="">For this collaborative project, we are now seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated PhD student with a Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., Educational/Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Cognitive Science) and shared interests in the project described above. Some programming skills and proficiency in using analysis software (e.g. Matlab, Python, Unity, R) and in Rigging, IK/FK-Animation, Motion Capturing as well as some experience with eye tracking in 3D, i.e. eye tracking in VR and/or in the real world would be desirable, but not required. Recently, the <a href="https://www.dipf.de/en/" class="">DIPF</a> (Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education) has moved close to our labs onto the main campus of the Goethe University and with it <a href="https://www.idea-frankfurt.eu/en/about-idea" class="">IDeA</a> - an interdisciplinary research center in Frankfurt enlarging the research opportunities for Educational Psychology. Teacher education is in fact an important area not only in teaching but also in research at Goethe University.
