The projects are focused on studying neural computation and communication between visual cortical areas, and are funded by grants from the Australian Research Council starting in 2021 (date negotiable). </span></p><br><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(0,0,0);background-color:transparent;font-variant-numeric:normal;font-variant-east-asian:normal;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap">You will join a diverse, dynamic and highly collaborative group of neurophysiologists, biomedical engineers, behavioural neuroscientists, and neural data scientists. Using marmoset monkeys as our experimental model, the projects will include techniques such as multi-channel, multi-area electrophysiology (Neuropixels / Utah arrays / ECoG), optogenetic and electrical stimulation optical imaging, in both anaesthetised and awake-behaving preparations, as well as animal and human psychophysics. The projects will be supervised by Drs. The postdoctoral salaries are highly competitive on an international scale, and include superannuation (pension fund) and other benefits. Australian PhDs have no coursework and typically last 3.5-4 years.
