<p class="MsoNormal">We have recently been awarded a one-year Research Group by LMU Munich’s ‘Center for Advanced Studies’ (CAS<sup>LMU</sup>) dedicated to the topic of <i>Handling Visual Distraction</i>. This award, for the academic year 2021/22, comes with

 generous funding and support for a select group of scientists actively cooperating on this topic. Researchers interested in

<i style="">Handling Visual Distraction</i> are strongly encouraged to apply for membership by submitting a brief motivation letter and a CV by March 30, 2021.

<p class="MsoNormal">Starting in October 2021, the group will discuss and examine fundamental mechanisms of handling distraction, with foci on distraction in visual search and visual working memory. Members of the group – including many internationally leading

 experts on the topic – will come together in various online workshops over the year, with the project culminating in a conference, in or near Munich, on the topic in summer (likely July) 2022. Around the time of the conference, group members will have the

 opportunity to spend up to 4 weeks in Munich, the aim being to work with us and other group members on specific ideas developed over the funding period.</p>
