<span class="m2436296649469563800grame">cutting-edge</span> biomedical sciences applied to vision and the visual system. The school’s research program priorities include cellular and molecular biology of the eye, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, genetics,
stem cell biology, biomedical optics and imaging, dry eye and contact lens, myopia, concussion,
<span class="m2436296649469563800grame">psychophysics</span> and other topics. Current research strengths and opportunities include the study of hereditary retinal degenerations, retinal physiology, glaucoma, ocular surface diseases (dry eye), the development
of refractive errors, biomedical imaging, visual brain function, and visual rehabilitation. Broader institutional strengths include neuroscience, aging, obesity, precision medicine, public health and health policy, and large-scale collaborative patient-based
