Prof. Antonio RodrÃguez Sánchez) is looking for a talented Ph.D. candidate.

This position is aimed at enthusiastic students about Artificial Intelligence. 3D sensing has become a major research field for machine learning thanks to its applicability in areas like robotics, autonomous cars or augmented reality. The PhD candidate will develop new methodologies and algorithms in deep learning aimed at computer and robot vision tasks that lead to new architectures and algorithms for vision-based robotic agents. The goal of this PhD position is to develop deep learning algorithms that, combined with neuroscience-inspired structures, can be used as a guidance principle to build core components of artificial systems with human-like capabilities. Areas of interest include 3D point-clouds, Capsule Networks, Spiking Neural Networks and other state-of-the-art deep learning strategies. Knowledge of Neuromorphic computation is a plus.

This is a university assistant position that includes minor teaching requirements.

Your Profile
Applicants must have

earned, or be about to earn, an M.Sc. degree or equivalent in computer science or other relevant area,

an excellent academic record,

a strong background in machine learning, computer vision, and robotics,

excellent mathematical and coding skills (C/C++, Matlab, ROS, Python),

excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and

enthusiasm for leading-edge research, a team spirit and independent problem-solving skills

How to Apply

Applications must include

a letter of motivation,

a curriculm vitae including URLs of English-language theses and dissertations,

scanned transcripts (including grades) and diplomas,

a list of projects you have worked on with brief descriptions of your contributions, and contact information of at least two references.

Applications must apply at https://lfuonline.uibk.ac.at/public/karriereportal.details?asg_id_in=11956 and applications be received by June 23, 2021.
