<div class="">We are offering a Postdoctoral Position on visual disorders and neural plasticity at my lab at University College London (UCL), UK. I would be grateful if you could circulate this to any suitable candidates.</div>

<div class="">The project investigates how the brain adjusts to early-onset heritable eye disease, and how next-generation treatments such as ocular gene therapy can benefit patient vision, using behavioural testing, neuroimaging, and computational/mathematical
modelling. This will involve a range of techniques, including colour psychophysics, 3T and 7T MRI with pRF mapping, pattern classification, and quantitative MRI microstructural modelling, and there will be scope for using EEG, retinal imaging (OCT, adaptive
optics), and VR/AR, in patients and normal sighted, depending on shared interests. For recent relevant work from our lab, see <a href="https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.12.16.20246710v1.full.pdf" class="">this pre-print</a></div>

<div class="">We are looking for candidates with a PhD in cognitive neuroscience or similar, strong computational and programming skills (e.g. in MATLAB, R, Python), and good communication skills. Experience with neuroimaging, psychophysics, data-modelling,
and patient-oriented testing are a strong plus, but training can be provided in all aspects of the work. </div>

<div class="">The lab is linked to two UCL departments (the Dept of Experimental Psychology in UCL PaLS, and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology) located in the heart of London, with vibrant communities of faculty, postdoctoral, and graduate researchers and
good access to high quality academic resources, and clinical resources from Moorfields Eye Hospital. We are a very collaborative lab and support flexible working. The post is for 3 years with a 1-year contract in the first instance, and salary following UCL
pay scales. The ideal start date is as soon as possible but can be flexible. </div>
