multisensory object categories. Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral researcher and 2 PhD students (fully-funded) to join this project. The aim of the proposed research is to elucidate the behavioural and brain processes underpinning the formation
of object categories from combined visual, auditory and haptic information.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:11.0pt">Candidates for the post-doctoral role must have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or a cognate discipline and have experience or an interest in multisensory
perception, ideally from a cognitive neuroscience perspective. Prior research experience in neuroimaging (fMRI) is essential. Experience with statistical modelling, programming using e.g. Matlab, Python etc. is desirable.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:11.0pt">As well as having a strong academic background, the candidate will also be expected to contribute to the overall research programme of the Multisensory Cognition group
and in collaboration with Prof. Rob Whelan and his research group at TCIN. They must have the requisite skills to lead the project, be a good communicator, and enjoy working as part of a team.

to take up the position then, or as soon as is feasible thereafter. The salary is based on the Post-Doctoral Researcher rate (consistent with Government Pay Policy of between €37,000 to €45,000 per annum for experienced researchers). All applicants with a

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:11.0pt">The main focus of the studentship in Developmental Perception is to investigate the formation of multisensory object categories in children from the age of four years
old. All testing will be lab-based, in schools or, when appropriate, online. The main focus of the studentship in Multisensory Perception is to investigate the representation and flexibility of multisensory object categories in memory. The research will
involve behavioural testing of adult participants, as well as eye tracking and the use of VR technology (in collaboration with industrial partners).

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:11.0pt">Both studentships are fully-funded to include student fees, an annual stipend of €18,500 and conference travel for 4 years. A start date of either early September 2021
or March 2022, whichever is more feasible, is expected. Applicants should have a strong undergraduate degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or cognate discipline and have experience in conducting independent research ideally in a topic related to Human Perception
or Cognition. A Master’s degree in Psychology or Cognitive Neuroscience is desirable but not essential.
