<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="color:#0E101A">The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day running of this project. They will work closely with Dr Pete Jones to develop a research protocol, recruit patients, screen children
 for visual impairments, coordinate the research study, analyse empirical data, and report results at internal meetings, international conferences, and in peer-reviewed journal publications. They will also be expected to participate in journal clubs, lab meetings,
 and public engagement activities, as a member of our close-knit Child Vision Lab team. Throughout their tenure, there will also be opportunities to be involved in other ongoing studies within our multidisciplinary lab, and to learn about different research
 methodologies, depending on the interests and capabilities of the candidate.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:12.0pt"><strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#0E101A">Key Requirements:</span></strong><span style="color:#0E101A"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="color:#0E101A">Essential: Applicants should have a BSc in science or a clinical background in optometry or ophthalmology. They must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong
 analytical skills, and an enthusiasm for vision science.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="color:#0E101A">Desired: Experience with relevant research techniques (functional vision tests), programming (<span style="font-variant:small-caps">Matlab</span>, C#, or similar), working with children,
 patients, or other challenging populations, or working in a scientific or eye-care setting are all helpful, but not required.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="color:#0E101A">Training and supervision will be provided. Candidates lacking direct experience, but who possess the necessary background and a desire to learn, are encouraged to apply. This post
