<p class="MsoNormal">A 3-year full-time PhD studentship is available at the Department of Psychology at Durham University, UK, to start in the academic year 2021/22. The successful candidate will join a research project on memory-guided visual attention led
by Dr Anna Grubert (<a href="https://www.dur.ac.uk/directory/profile/?id=15227">https://www.dur.ac.uk/directory/profile/?id=15227</a>). The project aims at understanding the cognitive and neural underpinnings of memory-guided visual attention. The PhD will
combine behavioural and electrophysiological (EEG/ERP) measures to investigate the organisational properties of memory-based attentional templates and the time course of template-guided selection. The PhD studentship is fully funded by the Leverhulme Trust
and covers UK Home tuition fees, a tax-free annual stipend of currently £15,285, and generous research expenses.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Who is eligible?<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u>Essential criteria:<o:p></o:p></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Open to UK applicants (applicants eligible for UK Home tuition fees).<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Have a BSc and have (or expect to obtain) an MSc in experimental psychology, at an upper second (2.1) standard or higher.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Experience in collecting, analysing, and reporting quantitative data on human perception or cognition.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Technical competence (e.g., MATLAB, Python, SPSS) and ability to learn to use new equipment and software.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Excellent written and oral expression.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Have a desire to pursue a research career.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u>Desirable criteria:<o:p></o:p></u></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- An outstanding academic track-record (e.g., high grades, prizes, career-stage-appropriate conference presentations or publications).<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- A proven background of theoretical knowledge or empirical research on visual selective attention with human healthy adults and methodological experience with EEG and ERPs.
