<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none">University of Texas at Austin<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The laboratory of Eyal Seidemann is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellowship to work on a BRAIN initiative funded project in collaboration with the Deisseroth, Shenoy, Giocomo and Ganguli labs at Stanford. The goal of this project
is to understand how bidirectional interactions between visual cortex and decision and oculomotor brain regions give rise to behavioral performance in demanding visual discrimination tasks. The successful candidate will develop and use cutting-edge, primate-specific
experimental techniques, including optical-genetic methods for measuring and perturbing neural responses and modern anatomical and transcriptomic tools. The project will also involve behavioral studies in monkeys and advanced data analysis and computational
modeling. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The neuroscience community at UT Austin (<a href="http://www.neuroscience.utexas.edu">www.neuroscience.utexas.edu</a>) offers excellent facilities, an outstanding interdisciplinary scientific environment, a strong vision community and a
very collegial atmosphere. Austin is an affordable city and is widely considered one of the most beautiful and livable cities in the US.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Computational background, programming experience, and experience with neurophysiology are desirable. Please send CV, statement of research interests and the names of three references to Eyal Seidemann (<a href="mailto:eyal@austin.utexas.edu">eyal@austin.utexas.edu</a>).
