<span lang="EN-GB">A 3-year PhD scholarship is available to work on ¡°Reducing cybersickness during head-mounted display based virtual reality¡± at the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia.</span>
<span lang="EN-GB">The scholarship is a tax-free annual stipend of $28,092 AUD per year for 3 years (note this also covers the student¡¯s tuition fees at the University of Wollongong). The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:7.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">
</span><span lang="EN-GB">A/Prof Stephen Palmisano (UOW) and also collaborate with A/Prof Juno Kim (UNSW) and Prof Robert Allison (York University)</span>.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;text-align:justify">
<b><span lang="EN-GB">Essential and Desirable Criteria:</span></b><span lang="EN-GB"> Candidates must have (or will soon obtain) either an Honours degree (1<sup>st</sup> Class or 2<sup>nd</sup> Class Division 1) or a Research Masters (with at least ¨ø¡¯s of the
degree comprising a thesis) in a related field (e.g., Psychology</span><span lang="EN-US">,</span><span lang="EN-GB"> Computer Science, Engineering,
</span><span lang="EN-US">Kinesiology or Ergonomics</span><span lang="EN-GB">). A background in psychophysics, psychophysiology, or human factors experimentation is desirable (i.e., experience collecting, analysing, and reporting quantitative data – e.g., on
human perception or motion sickness). Programming experience would also be an asset (e.g., VR/Graphics programming in C/C++, MATLAB, OpenGL, UNITY, UNREAL ENGINE or Data analysis skills using MATLAB or R).</span><o:p></o:p></p>
