<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The laboratory for retinal physiology seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to work with Dr. Cord Huchzermeyer on projects in optimizing outcome parameters of photoreceptor- and post-receptoral-specific function for clinical trials
in patients with inherited retinal diseases<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The project is financed by the German Research Council (DFG) and the post-doctoral position at the laboratory of Experimental Ophthalmology (Dept. of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital Erlangen) is available for
three years. The project is supervised by PD Dr. Cord Huchzermeyer.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The aim of the project is to study photoreceptoral and post-receptoral mechanisms with psychophysical procedures involving novel stimulus methods and to develop new psychophysical techniques and analysis methods to study
changes in the mentioned mechanisms in patients with inherited retinal diseases (IRDs). The results of these studies should ultimately be used to monitor the effects of new therapies for IRDs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">There is a close interaction other groups in Germany. In addition, the laboratory is closely linked to the group of Jan Kremers at the Department of Ophthalmology where electrophysiological measurements are performed
in human subjects and in animals.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
